Future City Competition

Future City competition held its first annual NC regional competition during the 2002-2003 school calendar year. Simpson Engineers & Associates, P.C., a founding member on the steering committee, and several other local companies oversee the success of this annual event, which is made possible through generous donations and the many volunteers from our local business and teaching communities who donate their time to mentor students as well as organize and judge each event. The competition increases awareness about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and inspires the middle school participants in designing and building their own “future” cities. These 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students also learn valuable skills necessary for continued success in school and eventually their careers. You can learn more about the NC competition here.
